Courses I teach:



ELEM 103 Introduction to Elementary Education

Examines the functions and organization of the elementary school, with emphasis upon current trends in education. Explores teacher roles and responsibilities. Coordinates guided observations with theory and readings from contemporary professional literature. Field trips may be required at student expense.



ELEM 292 Analysis of Classroom Behavior


An integrated course coordinating theory and field experience in analyzing specified teacher and student behaviors. Additional emphasis is on learning centers, developing and implimenting an instructional design in micro-teaching episodes.




ELEM 326 Teaching Social Studies and Science in the
Elementary School

Examines the purposes, scope, sequences, materials, and methodology of teaching science and social studies in elementary school. Develops ways and means of planning, instructing, and evaluating subject matter, abilities, and skills. College class instruction and observation and participation in elementary school classrooms.



ELEM 533 Teaching the Natural and Social Sciences in the
Elementary School


Examines the purposes, scope, sequence, materials, and methodology of teaching science and social studies in the elemenatry school. Develops ways and means of planning, instructing, and evaluating subject matter and ability and skills.
