Ben
Samara, Editor-in-Chief:
A former section editor of unbound, Ben Samara took
over the reigns in the Fall of 2004. A senior Journalism major with a minor in
Interactive Multimedia, he has been writing professionally since high school and
has spent time working for the Princeton University athletic department, YES Network,
and ESPN. For the past five summers, he has served as an intern at www.ivyleaguesports.com.
During the summers of 2003, 2004 and 2005 he served as editor and designer of
the annual Ivy League football media guide. He also works as a freelance web designer.
His most recent projects include work for the Princeton
University men's
and women's
track and field teams as well as the last three editions of unbound. Samara also
writes weekly movie reviews for The Signal, the student newspaper at
The College of New Jersey.
Melanie Weiss, Copy Chief:
Melanie Weiss is a junior English major and Professional Writing/Journalism
minor at The College of New Jersey. She is a section editor for the Seal yearbook,
a Hall Security Worker in Eickhoff Residence Hall, and a member of the EiEiO intramural
volleyball team. She interns in the public relations office of the Trenton Titans
ECHL hockey team, winners of the 2005 Kelly Cup. She is also a world champion
herself, after marching with the 2005 Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps. You may have
seen her on ESPN2 or VicFirth.com. She is looking to pursue a career in public
relations, journalism or teaching.
Mirjana
Jojic, Lifestyles/Photo Editor:
Mirjana Jojic is a senior double major in biology and English at The College of
New Jersey. When she's not busy snapping pictures of people's "good sides,"
she is out saving lives as an EMT on LionsEMS, the campus 911-response squad.
Her other hobbies include being active with Habitat for Humanity, traveling to
her home country of Yugoslavia , and Mario Tennis (Koopa Paratroopa is her favorite).
Jojic has aspirations of going to medical school, and hopes to become an orthopedic
surgeon because she loves medicine and people.
Paige
Nestel, Opinions/Business & Government Editor:
Paige Nestel is a junior Journalism/Professional Writing major with a minor
in Sociology at The College of New Jersey. In addition to her work at unbound,
she is also the features assistant at The Signal, TCNJ’s student newspaper.
This semester, she is lucky enough to spend Mondays and Thurdays at a fabulous
mail-opening/photocopying internship with the features department at Marie Claire
magazine in New York City.
Jenise Beaman, Health Editor:
Jenise Beaman is a senior Journalism/Professional Writing major at The College
of New Jersey. She has been involved in writing for her high school newspaper
as well as TCNJ's student paper, The Signal. Her other interests include
reading, writing, and watching football and basketball in addition to politics.
Nicole Grieco, Arts & Leisure Editor:
Nicole Grieco is a senior English major with minors in Creative Writing and Women's
and Gender Studies, so she hopes to have a job of some kind when she graduates.
She is a member of WILL, Sigma Tau Delta, Ink, and The Siren. She loves her friends,
the internet, and Johnny Depp, in roughly that order.
Nicole
Levins, Features Editor:
Nicole Levins is a junior Professional Writing/Journalism major who is also
pursuing an as-of-yet undeclared minor in Women's and Gender Studies. She has
written for local publications since high school, and her extreme hatred of spelling/grammatical
errors earned her the position of copy editor for Pitman High School's student
newspaper. Levins is a member of the Progressive Student Alliance, and she would
be a part of College Democrats if they'd respond to her e-mails. When not writing
or doing disgusting amounts of homework, Levins can usually be found arguing with
conservatives, checking random away messages, or reading Jane magazine.
