Hopefully more info on that by next meeting. - Activities The activities committee has been reassigned as the CS Picnic Committee. We will be holding the picnic on April 15th. Free food is definitely a strong motivation to be there as well as the chance to relax and have fun outside with fellow CS Majors and Staff. Anyone wishing to help out with the CS Picnic get in touch with the committee: George, Greg, Karl, Rich, and David. - Thank you letters We will be writing thank you letters to people who pledged money at the phone-a-thon, Jen Drew and Anne Martens for their support in organizing our alumni event, and a thank you note to Dr. Bentley for speaking at the alumni event. - Elections We held elections for the 1998-1999 UPE Officers. The new officers are: President - Dave Nardone Vice-President - Tim Ferguson Treasurer - Brice Behringer Secretary - Craig Kapp Congratulations to our new officers!!! New officers should get in touch with this year's officers to find out exactly where their responsibilities lie. - Treasury Report The bill (modified) for the food at the alumni event was $100.00 We currently have $360 in our budget. We will be spending some of our money on Honor Cords for this year's graduating seniors. Those graduation seniors may buy the honor cords from UPE or just return them after the graduation ceremony. We have received our budget from SFB. Next year they granted us $72.00 ($62 for publicity and $10 for office supplies). We did not receive any money for speakers (we received $200 this year which went to Dr. Bentley). We will be appealing for this amount soon. - Announcements Dr. Knox is looking for 497s either in HTML, CGI, PERL and web-based publication stuff or NT System Admin. See Dr. Knox for more info.
