MINUTES -- UPE
			Tuesday, Oct.1

ELECTIONS -- We elected officers for this year's term, and boy were there 
some heated competitions!  Here are the results...

        President -- LJ Caruso
	Vice President -- April Ullery
	Secretary -- Jennifer Giordano
	Treasurer -- Mike Krantz
	Public Relations -- Ed Paul/ Erik Clavijo

Congratulations to all of the new officers!!
 
ADVISOR -- We discussed who we would like to be our advisor for the year, 
being that Dr. Wolz is on sabbatical and really shouldn't be made to have 
advisory duties.  LJ said that Dr. Knox would be the most helpful and 
geared toward a professional/graduate attitude, but that she is also 
extremely busy this semester.  So, if she says it's too much, 
we're going to ask, or rather beg, Dr. Anderson and hope that she is 
sympathetic to our cause!

MEETINGS -- Since only half of the members attended the meeting 
yesterday, we would like to come up with a better time to meet.  We also 
decided on meeting bi-weekly.

THE GOAL -- To develop programs to benefit Upsilon Pi Epsilon members, 
the Computer Science department, and the entire campus.  

THE FUTURE -- We discussed several great ideas about the future, 
including:  writing a constitution, becoming a recognized organization 
and, thus, receiving funding from the student finance board, having 
fundraisers, getting speakers to come to talk about computer science, 
getting pins or stickers for our cars that say UPE, etc, etc...  LJ has 
a lot of great ideas, and hopefully we'll get this organization in gear 
as soon as we can!
