Hey everyone, here are the minutes from the last meeting... 1. Some eligible members have not paid their dues yet. Please try and get your $25.00 check to Dr. Knox ASAP. 2. The Phone-A-Thon for Alumni Affairs is on, and signups for time slots will occur at the next two meetings. Meridith Murry from Alumni & Development will be here in a month to train us on how to successfully speak with alumni and get money out of them :) 3. We're hoping to get Prof. Kubulis to speak on the Y2K problem around or before the Phone-A-Thon occurs. Once Dave hammers out the definates, he'll get us some more information. 4. It looks like Dow Jones will be donating a total of 3 machines to UPE and the CS Club. Tim and Pat are still working on the proposal, and are getting vendor quotes together. 5. More info on the programming contest will be given at the next meeting. 6. Dave will be drafting a letter to CS Alumni asking them for donations. 7. The group began looking at the available ACM speakers from the ACM website. Members were asked to put a mark next to interesting lecturers, and the results of these "votes" will be available at the next meeting. 8. The UPE SFB account was frozen, but Brice took care of that. Now he's working on getting our actual budget sheet so we can know how much $$ we really have. We'll have more info at the next meeting. 9. Ken Kolano will be working on the UPE website before the next meeting. 10. Erik will be calling the T-Shirt vendor to get pricing information. 11. If you have done any CS research and want to apply for the Computing Research Association's "Outstanding Undergraduate Award", see Dave Nardone. That's it for now! -Craig
