MINUTES - UPE
			Tuesday, October 7th, 1997

- New Inductees
Once again congratulations to those newest members of UPE.  The newest
members received their official invitations to UPE at the last meeting.
New inductees are required to pay a one-time $25 membership fee.  Make
checks payable to Dr. Knox.  Please get that money to her as soon as
possible!

- ACM Speaker List
We are making some progress on finding a speaker for the Alumni event we
are planning on having next semester.  Joe and Vic presented to us
information they looked up on possible speakers.  

- Alumni Letter
Our letter to the alumni informing them of the upcoming phone-a-thon has
been completed and approved by Meredith from Alumni Affairs.  We will send
that letter out to the CS Alumni soon!

- Pretzel Sale
Our Pretzel sale fundraiser will be happening on October 16th, from
8am-5pm.  Thanks to everyone who signed up, but we still need more people
for the 8am-9:30, 9:30-11:00, and 12:30-2:00.  There is no one scheduled
for the 12:30 shift at all!  If you are free during this time, PLEASE
volunteer your help.  If no one signs up we will be forced to cancel the
pretzel sale and lose out on extra funds for our organization!

- Beyond Graduation
We're still working on a Beyond Graduation information session with our CS
Alumni.  We're trying to contact the alumni and get volunteers to come and
speak.  If you know anyone that is good.. please contact Dave Watkins and
tell him.  

- Grad School Representatives cancelled
Because of lack of interest, we have cancelled an attempt to ask
representatives from Grad schools to come and speak at the college.

- GRE info session
We are still trying to contact the Princeton Review regarding having a
information session with them about the GRE.  

- Announcements

The next meeting will be held in Holman Hall 253 at 8:00PM on Tuesday,
October 21st unless otherwise notified through e-mail.

Graduate and Professional School Admissions Day, Thursday, October 16th,
Brower Student Center, Room 202.
