Minutes - October 15, 2001

- SIGGRAPH show trip is still on and going well.  So far we have
  around 12 people going and will be sending the van from the 
  school and 1 car.  If anyone still wants to go with us, email
  UPE before noon Tuesday.

- As for our other event, Dave Watkins will be coming on Wednesday
  November 7th for his Wireless Technology lecture.  We're planning
  on getting him some sort of gift such as a gift certificate to a
  bookstore and a T-shirt.  If anyone has any better ideas give us 
  an email.

- Instead of the phone-a-thon, Dr. Knox is in the process of
  finding out if we can possibly write a letter to alumni for
  fund-raising.  We're going to put a letter about the state of
  the department and send it to all the CS alumni.

- We are looking at having some sort of sponsored gathering in
  December such as a dinner or party for CS students.  We're also
  throwing around an idea for a Faculty Day where faculty could 
  speak to the students about their research interests and themselves.
  Our goal with both ideas is to try to get the cs department more
  cohesive.

- No meeting next week as we have fall break.  The next meeting will
  be held on Monday October 29 at 7:00PM in Holman 252.
