MINUTES -- November 4th, 1997

- Membership Fee
Those new inductees who have not paid their $25 membership fees they are
due by November 11th.  Make checks payable to Dr. Knox.  We will be unable
to admit you into UPE if you fail to pay this membership fee by Tuesday.

- Meredith Murray and  the phone-a-thon
Meredith Murray came to tell us about our upcoming phone-a-thon on Monday
and Tuesday the 10th and 11th of November.  There will be two shifts for
both nights 6-8pm and 7-9pm.  Try to get there a half hour before your
shift starts so you can find out more information about what exactly you
will be doing.  If you have not signed up for a shift, make sure you sign
up for at least one shift or even two or more!  We need all the help we
can get.  Remember the more money we raise the more scholarships and
special activities we can plan and that benefits you.  There will also be
food there (pizza?) and awards will also be given out to those
participants who are most productive.  Awards include free CS books!

- Programming Contest
We're still working on holding a programming contest.  We heard from Chuck
Rose (a CS alumni working for Microsoft) who informs us that Microsoft
will most likely fund our contest.  Brad and Mark will be working on a
letter to ask Microsoft to fund it.  

- Announcement

The next meeting will be held in Holman Hall 253 at 8:00pm on Tuesday,
November 18, unless otherwise notified through e-mail.
