MINUTES - November 18th, 1997

- Phone-a-thon success!!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped and volunteered at this year's phone-a-thon.
The total amount of money that was pledged was about $1700!!!  This
doesn't include matching gifts from companies either.  Our four award
winners at the Phone-a-thon were Rich, George, Greg, and Brad..
Congratulations guys on a job well done!!!  The four winners will be
receiving prizes for their hard work.

- Programming contest

We are making progress on the programming contest we plan on running.
Brad is almost done on the letter to Microsoft (and maybe some other
companies) asking them to donate prizes or sponsor it.  

- Alumni event

We still are deciding on a speaker and we have not set a date yet.  We
need to reserve one with Alumni affairs.  More news on this soon!

- Treasury Report

Treasurer Jim reports that we still have about $300 dollars in funds from
the SFB.  This will most likely go to the speaker at the alumni event,
advertisements for it, and whatever office supplies we will buy.

- Announcements

The next meeting will be held at 8:00pm, Tuesday, December 2nd.  Dr. Knox
graciously invited us to have the last meeting of the semester at her
house.  Dr. Knox lives right next to the campus.  Ask Dave for directions
if you need them.  

It is IMPORTANT for everyone to show up at the next meeting because we
will be electing a new Vice President for next semester because Joe Kelly
is graduating.  Your vote counts and be sure to show up if you wish to run
for this position.

Joe Kelly has internship opportunities as well.  Talk to him for more
details.

Software offer -- All of you should have received info from Dave about a
software offer.  If you are interested in this, please get in touch with
Dave by the end of the week so he can order it.  The cost is $6.
