All non-print media such as CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, cassettes and CDROMS are in closed stacks behind the Media Services Desk, with the exception of LPs, which are on open shelving in the Music Collections. All Media materials circulate from the Media Services Desk.

Music & Media Collections

The library's Music and Media Collections consist of ca. 7,500 volumes of printed music, ca. 18,000 sound recordings in LP and CD format, and ca. 12,000 video recordings in DVD, VHS and U-Matic formats. The Media Collection also houses a smaller number of CD-ROMs and audio cassettes.

The Music & Media Collection is located on Level 4.

The audiovisual collections are made up of two types of materials, those that have been commercially published, and those that were produced locally on campus. Published materials have been fully cataloged and are searchable from the TCNJ Library Catalog. Additionally the collections include language resources on video and/or CD, such as Destinos, Dos Mundos, Voilà, Prego, and Wie Geht's? Materials produced locally on campus include recordings of IDSC lectures, the Distinguished Faculty Forum Series, Women's History Month speakers, and are listed in a notebook available at the Media Services Desk.

For specific questions about the Music & Media Collection, please contact Linda Dempf, Music/Media Librarian (609) 771-2721.
