American Women's History examines the lives of women of African descent in the
U.S. The Course explores the experiences and contributions of African
American women to the development and growth of the United States.
Students will learn about African American women's roles in the church, social
movements, and social reproduction, and the legacy of forced migration and
slavery, and will be able to understand the relationship between African
American women and the institutions, movements, individuals, ideas and values of
the major eras of U.S. history. |
