Dr. Susan Boughn

Dr. Boughn is a registered nurse specializing in women’s health as it intersects with women’s issues. Degrees include: nursing diploma (University of Wyoming); BSN & MSN (California State University, San Jose); and EdD (Rutgers University). Boughn’s research has been published nationally and internationally, and she has presented her work nationally and internationally. She is a NJ CASE Professor of the Year.
Lecture & clinical/practice, and research activities: public health, specializing in at risk populations, (e.g., adolescent mothers, infant care, STDs, contraception, domestic violence); maternal & gynecologic health, (e.g., pathologies of the breasts, reproductive anatomy & physiology, prenatal & postnatal care, birth & death); political-economic-social issues, (e.g., politics & legislation, advocacy & activism, and using caring, power & empowerment as a transformative vision); and research, (trichotillomania, developing autonomy & activism in students, hardiness & resiliency).
