The Thornton Wilder Writing Competition 2003
Sponsored by the Friends of the Hamden Library

Established by Thornton Wilder's sister Isabelle, the annual contest encourages high school student writers to hone their craft. The April 9, 2003 event will be held at Thornton Wilder Hall at the Hamden Library in Hamden, CT.

2003 WINNERS

First Prize, Prose: $400.
Cory Landon: Grade 10, Wilbur Cross High School. Short Story: The Piano.
Second Prize, Prose: $200.
Nida Itarapanich: Grade 9, Hamden High School. Short Story: Monster Fish and Midgets.
First Prize, Drama: $400.
Ian Tattersall: Grade 11, Guilford High School. Play: Tangent.
Second Prize, Drama: $200.
Elizabeth Rimar: Grade 12, Hamden High School. Play: How To Be a Good Housewife.
Honorable Mention, Poetry: $100.
Lauren DeStafano: Grade 12, East Haven High School. Poem: Orange Blood.
