Visions in Action: Fundraising and Development Interns Internships are available on a continuous basis in their U.S. office in Washington DC, each requiring a commitment of three months or more for 15-40 hours per week. If their goals and mission look interesting to you, please send a resume and a cover letter to their office stating which internship(s) you would like, the exact dates that you could begin and end your internship, and the number of hours of service per week that you could give. In selecting interns, a competitive process, they look for relevant experience and seriousness of commitment, based on the length of service and weekly time commitment proposed. Graduate students and seniors are favored over sophomores and juniors, other things being equal. Nationals of the developing world are especially encouraged to apply, as are those with experience in the developing world. French and Spanish language capability is a plus. Intern Information: Marketing/Special Projects Intern Duties include: Assist VIA Program Development Manager with promotional material for VIA; identify new media outlets for advertising VIA’s work; research; identify media and fundraising opportunities for VIA; identify and research social marketing opportunities and potential partnerships for international volunteer program; assist with VIA marketing and promotion campaigns; attend Career Fairs to promote VIA programs; assist VIA Program Development Manager with media and fundraising initiatives; assist with grant writing and research for VIA, assist in VIA event planning including community service and outreach events; assist with the maintenance of VIA website and Facebook account; assist with other duties as assigned. Requirements: Strong research, networking, and interpersonal skills. French abilities a plus. Program Development Intern Duties include: Assist VIA Program Development Manager in the identification and research of new funding opportunities and organizational partnerships; attend career fairs and other events on behalf of VIA; assist with grant writing and research, assist in maintaining corporate relations; assist with maintenance of donor and volunteer database; assist with other duties as assigned. Proficiency in French and excellent internet research and writing skills are desired; assist with other duties as assigned. Requirements: Interest in international development, preferably in Africa, research, writing, database, French abilities a plus.
