Our IPS has been blocking communication attempts from campus Macs to various control servers for the past several days (April 2012).  All of these communication attempts originate from student owned Macs.  Please visit the resnet pages for freely available anti-virus software for your Mac.

Apple has a patch (available since April 14) that is easily applied through Software Update.  The patch will remove the trojan and fix the vulnerability.  The patch is only available for OSX 10.6 and 10.7.  If you have an older version of OSX it is suggested that you disable Java and only enable it when required.  More info:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5244
