System Security Objectives

The objective of The College Of New Jersey Internet and Information Technology Security Program is to create an environment where the following elements of Internet and Information Technology Security can be successfully integrated and implemented:

  • Access to Internet and Information Technology systems resources based upon a defined access requirement with appropriate denial of services provisions
  • The ability to audit all transactions and processes impacting The College Of New Jersey's databases and operational outputs
  • Traditional physical security controls and accountability with manual as well as automated processes
  • Systems development review procedures and testing to ensure security in all Internet and Information Technology systems designs and procurements
  • A realistic and exercised contingency plan

 

All elements of the College's Internet and Information Technology Security Program should be structured to minimize or prevent damage which might result from accidental or intentional events, or actions that might breach the confidentiality of The College Of New Jersey's records, result in fraud or abuse, or delay the accomplishment of The College Of New Jersey's operations.
